The Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas
(TAS) is pleased to host the 2006 Astronomical League
Convention and Exhibits (ALCON/EXPO) August 4-5, 2006.
The convention will be in Arlington, Texas at the E.H.
Hereford University Center on the University of Texas
at Arlington (UT Arlington) campus. The Astronomical
Leagues Annual Council meeting will be held August
3, 2006 also on the UT Arlington campus.
Onsite dormitory accommodations will be available as
well as a variety of hotels and motels in various price
ranges.
In addition to excellent speakers, the convention will
have an astronomical trade show and vendor exposition,
special programs in UT Arlingtons new state-of-the-art
digital planetarium, and the Astronomical Leagues
Annual Awards Banquet.
Arlington is located in the center of the Dallas/Fort
Worth Metroplex and minutes away from world-class museums,
entertainment facilities, and 10 professional sports
venues. It is just 15 miles from D/FW International
Airport. Arlington is also the home of the Texas Rangers
baseball team and Six Flags Over Texas.
TAS in conjunction with UT Arlingtons College
of Science, and other astronomical societies in North
Texas will be planning special surprises for the convention
and invite you to Texas for ALCON/EXPO 2006.
