The Almost Heaven Star Party for 2010!, Circleville WV, Sept. 3

The Northern Virginia Astronomy Club is pleased to announce The Almost Heaven Star Party for 2010! We've just opened registration for AHSP, held again this year at The Mountain Institute on the high-elevation flank of Spruce Knob, WV. This year's star party is Fri-Tues over the Labor Day weekend, 3-7 Sep. We'll have a slate of fantastic speakers as we do each year. Special tours are also planned, such as a visit to NRAO at Greenbank (and we plan another overnighter there including use of the 40' radio telescope!), and all the recreation opportunities on the mountain are likewise available. The dark skies are the real reason to show up, but you'll also enjoy a raffle for great prizes, the hearty fare cooked up by the TMI hosts, and lots more. Please visit the event registration site at www.ahsp.org for information, directions, and to sign up! Address: The Mountain Institute (Spruce Knob Mountain Center HC 75 Box 24) City: Circleville, WV
